Correct use of remote control facilities for fire pressure water supply equipment

2024-11-08

The fire hydrant water supply system and automatic sprinkler water supply system of high-rise or multi story civil buildings widely use fire pressure water supply equipment, which generally consists of pressure water tanks, water pump units, pipeline systems, electrical control systems, automatic control cabinets, etc. The starting method of the water pump is generally controlled by a pre-set pressure value to stabilize the daily pressure of the pump and maintain the working pressure required for the most unfavorable point of the system - fire water. When a fire occurs, the system automatically starts the fire pump to supply water and extinguish the fire through the automatic control cabinet. According to the national public safety industry standards, fire pressure water supply equipment should have three starting modes: automatic start, manual start, and remote operation start, and be in automatic control mode, able to start the fire pump at any time. At the same time, it should have signal terminals for remote control wiring to compensate for the defects caused by automation control failure. It can be seen that remote control is only an emergency remedial measure.

Some units not only design and configure fire pressure water supply equipment, but also design and configure an automatic control system. When receiving a fire alarm signal, the fire pump is automatically started remotely through the automatic control system of the fire control center. It is not necessary to start the fire pump in the fire control center as soon as a fire occurs. Only when the automatic control of the fire pressure water supply equipment fails, it is necessary to remotely operate and start the fire pump.

The types and quantities of remote control facilities are also a question worth exploring. Some fire control centers use manual button control for remote control of fire pumps, and add module linkage control, hydraulic alarm valve, pressure control switch, and fire hydrant box shattering glass button control in the equipment control cabinet. What would happen if these four instructions, combined with the equipment's own control, work simultaneously? Only one remote control facility is needed, which means that the remote wiring terminals inside the electrical control cabinet can be connected to the fire control center, making it simple and easy to operate.

In practical long-distance control, the following two points should be achieved: firstly, the fire control center should have equipment to display the operating status, which can be directly understood. Once a fire occurs, the fire pressure water supply equipment can automatically start the water pump to supply water; It is only necessary to urgently activate remote control facilities and forcibly start the fire pump in the event of equipment automatic control failure. Secondly, only one remote control facility needs to be set up in the fire control room or duty room for emergency use. Multiple controls or overlapping instructions can actually affect the normal operation of the equipment.
