What Is an End Suction Centrifugal Pump?

2025-03-02

End-suction centrifugal pump is a type of centrifugal pump, which can also be referred to as end-suction pump. It is a centrifugal pump with a back-suction structure. It sucks liquid from one end of the pump body through centrifugal force and discharges it through the outlet at the other end. Structurally, the end-suction pump is mainly composed of a pump body, an impeller, a shaft, a sealing device and other components. There is a suction pipe and a water outlet pipe inside the pump body, which are connected to the external system respectively. The impeller is a key component of the pump, which is composed of multiple blades and is similar to a disc. The working principle of the end-suction centrifugal pump is based on the action of centrifugal force. When the motor starts, the impeller on the shaft begins to rotate. The rotation of the impeller causes the liquid inside the pump body to be affected by centrifugal force, sucked into the pump body and accelerated along the flow path of the blades to the periphery of the pump body. As the liquid is continuously thrown out, the pressure inside the pump body gradually decreases, forming a low-pressure area, and the external liquid can be continuously sucked into the pump body. Finally, the liquid is thrown into the outlet pipe to complete the entire pumping process.
