The selection, configuration, packaging, installation, commissioning and operation of a centrifugal pump require more caution than usual. Centrifugal pumps are commonly used pump type in all walks of life. Because they are flexible, reliable, have a good relationship between head and flow, are reasonably priced and have mature technology. Choosing a suitable centrifugal pump is the basis for ensuring normal operation.
First, according to the process conditions, the physical properties of the liquid medium being transported, the piping layout conditions of the device system, the operating conditions, and the pre-installation position of the centrifugal pump, the pump flow, head, effective cavitation margin and other parameters are calculated.
Secondly, according to the layout of the device, terrain conditions, water level conditions, and operating conditions, determine whether to choose a horizontal, vertical or other type of centrifugal pump.
Then, according to the properties of the liquid medium being transported, determine the type of pump to be selected, whether it is a clean water pump, a hot water pump, an oil pump, a corrosion-resistant pump or other pump.
Then, according to the flow rate, determine whether to choose a single-suction pump or a double-suction pump. According to the head size, determine whether to choose a single-stage pump or a multi-stage pump.
After finally deciding on the pump series to be selected, the specific model can be determined on the model spectrum or characteristic curve according to the maximum flow rate and head.
