How to maintain a clean water centrifugal pump

The clean water centrifugal pump is of the back-opening type, and there is no need to remove the suction and discharge pipelines when disassembling the pump cover and impeller. The suspension is equipped with two ball bearings, lubricated with machine oil or grease. The pump is directly driven by an electric motor through an elastic coupling. The volute, base, inlet flange and outlet flange are cast as an integral unit. The structure of the clean water centrifugal pump is relatively simple.

First, ensure the pump operates within its rated range and avoid no-load running.

Second, prevent cavitation and air binding, strengthen inspections, and replace worn sealing parts in a timely manner.

Finally, by observing the following points during operation, users can master the correct operation method and extend the service life of the pump.

1. Check for looseness in the pipelines and connections of the clean water centrifugal pump. Rotate the pump by hand to check whether it runs smoothly.

2. Add bearing lubricating oil to the bearing body, ensuring the oil level is at the center line of the oil gauge; the lubricating oil should be replaced or replenished in a timely manner.

3. Unscrew the priming plug on the pump body of the clean water centrifugal pump and fill with priming water.

4. Close the gate valve on the discharge pipeline and the outlet pressure gauge.

5. Jog the motor to check whether the rotation direction is correct.

6. Start the motor. After the clean water centrifugal pump runs normally, open the outlet pressure gauge to check for a proper reading, then gradually open the gate valve while monitoring the motor load.

7. Try to control the flow rate and head of the clean water centrifugal pump within the range marked on the nameplate to ensure the centrifugal pump operates at its highest efficiency point for maximum energy-saving effect.

8. During operation, the bearing temperature of the clean water centrifugal pump shall not exceed 35℃ above ambient temperature, and the maximum temperature shall not exceed 80℃.

9. Stop the pump immediately and inspect the cause if any abnormal noise is detected.

10. When stopping the clean water centrifugal pump, first close the gate valve and pressure gauge, then stop the motor.

11. Replace the lubricating oil after 100 hours of operation within the first month of service, and then every 500 hours thereafter.

12. Regularly adjust the packing gland to maintain normal dripping from the packing chamber.

13. Regularly inspect the wear of the shaft sleeve and replace it promptly if severely worn.

14. When using the clean water centrifugal pump in cold winter, unscrew the drain plug at the bottom of the pump body to drain the medium completely after shutdown to prevent freezing and cracking.

15. If the clean water centrifugal pump is to be out of service for a long time, disassemble it completely, wipe dry the moisture, apply grease to the rotating parts and connections, reassemble and store properly. The structure of the clean water centrifugal pump is relatively simple.
